We have received quite a few questions about how to apply for the Farm tours and state your preferences. Please don’t worry – once the registration process is complete (July 15th), you will receive an online form to fill out. We will prioritise tour selection for those who registered first, in the order we received their registrations for the Congress.
Despite Croatia’s rich tradition in pig farming, we regret that we cannot showcase swine farms during the Congress due to the ongoing African Swine Fever outbreak.
Last year, over 10,000 pigs were euthanised in Croatia, and the virus re-emerged in 2026, prompting a mandatory culling order for all wild boars – identified as the primary vector of disease spread.
Human factor continues to play a significant role in long-distance virus transmission. If you are interested in this topic, we can arrange an expert briefing at the congress to detail ASF’s impact on the swine sector and the current preventive measures in place to contain its spread. If interested, PLS provide an email address in this form: https://forms.gle/2A55XLM7DTtwnhRE7
The Republic of Croatia is part of the European Union and the Schengen Area, so citizens of EU/EEA countries, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein do not need a visa to attend the Congress – a valid passport or ID card is sufficient for stays up to 90 days.
Foreign nationals should check the visa requirements for their citizenship. Countries exempt from visa requirements for stays in Croatia up to 90 days include the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Singapore, Malaysia, Israel, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and many others (over 100 countries).
