During a ceremonial flag handover at the IFAJ Congress of Agricultural Journalists in Kenya, Croatia officially took over the role of host for next year’s event. This marks another important step in organizing the global gathering of media professionals focused on rural issues.
The World Congress of Agricultural Journalists will take place from September 16 to 20, 2026, in Osijek, with visits to numerous farms across Slavonia and Baranja, followed by tours of other locations around the country.
By late summer, more than 200 participants from around the world are expected to arrive in Croatia. “Instead of traditional invitations, we symbolically presented our colleagues with ties in the colors of the Croatian flag, opening a conversation about our contribution to the global community” said Vedran Stapić, president of the Croatian Association of Agricultural Journalists (DANH).
He added that preparations for the first IFAJ congress in Croatia are progressing very well. “Interest has exceeded expectations, both from participants and potential partners, which for us as organizers brings delightful challenges,” Stapić noted.
