The Croatian Association of Agricultural Journalists (DANH) is a member of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ), which brings together media professionals worldwide focused on sharing new technologies and information relevant to the agricultural sector.
IFAJ organizes a World Congress every year – a tradition that began in 1958 with the first congress held in France. Since then, the event has been hosted annually by a different country, ensuring that all continents are fairly represented. Last year’s congress took place in Kenya, and prior to that in Switzerland, Denmark, the United States, and the Netherlands.
Following the decision of the IFAJ Executive Committee, Croatia will host this global gathering for the first time in 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to promote domestic agriculture, distinctive products, and export strengths in food and rural development. The event will showcase not only agriculture and the food industry but also tourism, related economic activities, and cultural heritage.
In September this year, leading agricultural journalists, photographers, and communication experts from more than 60 countries will visit Croatia. Over five days, more than 200 participants will tour farms in Slavonia and Baranja, followed by visits to other parts of the country. They will report on Croatia’s food production, rural landscapes, and agricultural practices, producing a wide range of media stories, features and reports that place Croatian agriculture and rural life in the global spotlight.
This unique event has the support of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
